Summary
This study aimed to understand how quickly patients lose muscle mass and strength in the first 10 days after a severe stroke. Researchers measured six patients' strength and body composition several times to see how these factors changed. The goal was to gather basic information to help predict and eventually prevent this debilitating muscle loss in Western populations.
