Scientists probe muscle energy failure in cancer patients

NCT ID NCT02573974

Summary

This study aimed to understand why cancer patients with weight loss experience muscle weakness and fatigue. Researchers examined muscle tissue from 51 patients with gastrointestinal cancer, comparing those with significant weight loss to those without. The goal was to learn how cancer affects the body's energy production systems in muscles, which could inform future treatments.
