Muscle scans may predict who survives septic shock

NCT ID NCT07483710

First seen Apr 29, 2026 · Last updated May 16, 2026 · Updated 4 times

Summary

This study looks at whether muscle measurements from a CT scan taken when a patient enters the ICU can help predict who will survive for 3 months after leaving the ICU. Researchers will study 196 adults with septic shock. The goal is to see if muscle size and quality are linked to survival, which could help doctors identify high-risk patients earlier.
