Muscle imbalance may determine how hips break in falls
NCT ID NCT07443046
Summary
This study looked at whether the balance of muscles around the hip, rather than just overall muscle loss, is linked to different types of hip fractures in older adults. Researchers used CT scans from 79 people aged 60+ who broke their hip in a simple fall. The goal was to understand if muscle distribution patterns could help explain why certain fractures happen and inform future prevention strategies.
