NCT ID NCT05483790
First seen Jun 26, 2026 · Last updated Jun 26, 2026 · Updated 1 time
Summary
This study tested a multimodal program combining cognitive training, physical exercise, and healthy lifestyle education in 120 older adults (ages 50-75) with mild cognitive impairment or normal cognition. Participants were randomly assigned to the program or health education alone. The goal was to see if the program could improve memory and thinking, measured by tests and brain scans over 12 months.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
Active substance
multimodal behavioral intervention (cognitive training, physical exercise, healthy lifestyle education, and computerized interaction training)
What this could lead to
If it works, this could point toward a simple, non-drug program to help older adults maintain or improve memory and thinking skills.
What could go wrong
This is a small, completed study with 120 participants, so results may not apply to everyone. The intervention is complex and may be hard to replicate widely.
