Vaccine trial aims to stop colon polyps before they become cancer

NCT ID NCT02134925

Summary

This study is testing an experimental vaccine designed to teach the body's immune system to attack and kill colon polyp cells. It aims to prevent these polyps, which can turn into colorectal cancer, from growing back after removal. About 110 people who recently had a large or high-risk polyp removed will receive either the real vaccine or a placebo shot to see if it reduces recurrence.
