Scientists test MSG's hidden effects on your stomach

NCT ID NCT00862017

Summary

This small study looked at how monosodium glutamate (MSG) might affect how quickly food leaves the stomach and how the body processes protein after a meal. Researchers tested 13 healthy volunteers to see if regularly taking MSG changed these digestive processes. The goal was to understand MSG's basic effects on gut function, not to treat any medical condition.
