Diabetes drug trial aims to protect MS Patients' brains

NCT ID NCT07497399

Summary

This study is testing whether a medication currently used for diabetes can slow down brain and eye nerve damage in people with multiple sclerosis (MS). Researchers will give 120 participants either the study drug or a placebo for about two years and use brain scans to measure changes in brain volume. The goal is to see if this drug can reduce inflammation and protect the nervous system from further damage in MS.
