10-Minute MRI scan could revolutionize liver cancer detection

NCT ID NCT04288323

Summary

This study tested whether a new, faster type of MRI scan is better than the standard ultrasound for finding early liver cancer in people with cirrhosis (scarred liver). The quick MRI takes less than 10 minutes, works well in patients where ultrasound can be difficult, and uses no radiation. Researchers compared how accurately each method detected cancer in 79 adult patients to see if the faster MRI could become a better screening tool.
