MRI scans reveal hidden success of late cleft palate repair

NCT ID NCT07514091

First seen Apr 11, 2026 · Last updated Apr 30, 2026 · Updated 2 times

Summary

This study will use MRI scans to see how well the palate and throat muscles work after a new type of cleft palate repair surgery. The surgery uses a muscle flap from the cheek to close the gap, and the MRI will check if this helps improve speech. Ten people who have not had early treatment will have the surgery and then get MRI scans and speech tests 6 months later.
