Tiny MRI study peers inside aorta after emergency stent repair
NCT ID NCT03669055
First seen Feb 01, 2026 · Last updated May 15, 2026 · Updated 14 times
Summary
This study tested whether MRI can measure blood flow changes in the aorta before and after a stent procedure for aortic dissection, a serious tear in the artery wall. Five patients who needed non-emergency stent surgery had two MRI scans to compare blood flow in the true and false channels of the aorta. The goal was to see if MRI could help doctors evaluate how well the treatment restores normal blood flow.
