Doctors use High-Tech scans to see inside weakening muscles

NCT ID NCT04869813

Summary

This study aims to use two advanced types of MRI scans to better understand and characterize muscle loss (sarcopenia) in people with heart failure. Researchers will scan 70 participants—some with heart failure and muscle loss, some with heart failure without muscle loss, and some healthy volunteers—to see if these scans can detect subtle muscle changes earlier than current methods. The goal is to gather knowledge that could one day help match patients to the right treatments and track their progress.
