Advanced scans aim to unlock secrets of sudden vision loss

NCT ID NCT03313817

Summary

This study used detailed MRI brain scans to learn more about central retinal artery occlusions, a sudden blockage in the eye's main artery that causes vision loss. Researchers scanned 63 adults who had just experienced this 'eye stroke' to look for specific signs on the images. The goal was to see if these MRI signs could help doctors identify the cause of the blockage and predict how much vision a patient might recover one month later.
