Doctors test if MRI scans can predict cancer survival before treatment begins

NCT ID NCT00581906

Summary

This study is testing whether special types of MRI scans taken before and during treatment can predict how well patients with head and neck cancer will respond to therapy. Researchers are looking at 272 patients to see if these advanced scans can identify which patients are likely to have good outcomes with surgery or chemo-radiation. The goal is to help doctors better match treatments to individual patients based on their scan results.
