New breath test could predict dangerous radiation side effects

NCT ID NCT06909201

Summary

This study is testing a new type of MRI scan that uses a special inhaled gas to see if it can predict which lung cancer patients will develop serious lung inflammation from radiation therapy. Researchers will scan patients before, during, and after their radiation treatment to look for early signs of damage. The goal is to help doctors spot problems sooner and potentially adjust treatment plans to protect the lungs.
