New scan could replace painful liver biopsies for millions

NCT ID NCT06779058

Summary

This study is testing whether a special type of MRI scan, called magnetic resonance elastography (MRE), can accurately measure liver scarring (fibrosis) in people with chronic Hepatitis B. The goal is to find a better, non-invasive way to monitor the disease over time, potentially replacing the need for painful liver biopsies. Researchers will enroll 600 adults with Hepatitis B to compare the scan's results against the current standard biopsy method.
