Safer brain scans? study tests MRI without risky dye for tumor detection

NCT ID NCT04113408

Summary

This study tested whether new MRI scanning techniques could detect meningioma brain tumors without using gadolinium contrast dye. Researchers compared standard contrast-enhanced MRI scans with experimental non-contrast scans in 315 adults undergoing tumor screening or monitoring. The goal was to validate safer scanning methods that avoid potential long-term risks from repeated contrast dye injections.
