New scan could replace risky biopsies for kidney transplant patients

NCT ID NCT07333495

Summary

This study is testing a new type of MRI scan to check the health of transplanted kidneys without needles, contrast dye, or invasive biopsies. It aims to create a personalized 'baseline' for each kidney by scanning donors before donation, allowing for more sensitive, early detection of problems. The goal is to develop a better, non-invasive tool to help kidney transplant patients keep their new organ healthy for longer.
