MRI scans could reduce harsh side effects of throat cancer treatment

NCT ID NCT03224000

Summary

This study is testing whether using MRI scans to guide radiation therapy can allow doctors to safely use lower radiation doses for certain throat cancers. It focuses on patients with HPV-positive throat cancer who have a low risk of the cancer spreading. The goal is to control the cancer while reducing severe side effects like swallowing problems, which are common with standard radiation.
