MRI scans could help target stubborn prostate cancer cells

NCT ID NCT03967080

Summary

This small study tested whether special MRI scans taken during radiation treatment for high-risk prostate cancer could help doctors see how the tumor is responding. Researchers wanted to learn if these scans could one day allow doctors to adjust radiation doses during treatment to better target areas that aren't shrinking. The study involved 5 patients and did not change their current treatment, but the findings could help improve future prostate cancer care.
