MRI scans could revolutionize prostate cancer diagnosis

NCT ID NCT02485379

Summary

This study compared two methods for detecting aggressive prostate cancer. Researchers tested whether using MRI scans to guide biopsy needles (targeted biopsies) finds dangerous cancers better than the standard method of taking many random samples (systematic biopsies). The trial involved 275 men in France who were already scheduled for prostate biopsies.
