New MRI technique aims to spare saliva ducts, fight debilitating dry mouth

Summary
This study is testing if using MRI scans to map and avoid the main saliva ducts during radiation treatment can better prevent severe, long-term dry mouth. It will compare this new approach to the standard method in 98 adults receiving radiation for throat cancer. The goal is to improve patients' ability to eat, swallow, and speak comfortably after treatment.
