Could a simple scan replace risky heart tests?

NCT ID NCT05103189

Summary

This study tested whether a special type of MRI scan (called 4D flow MRI) could accurately measure pressure in the lung arteries of people with pulmonary hypertension. Researchers compared the MRI results against the current standard invasive test (right heart catheterization) and ultrasound heart scans (echocardiography) in 28 patients. The goal was to see if this non-invasive scan could provide a safer alternative for diagnosing and monitoring this serious lung condition.
