New scan could replace painful liver biopsies
NCT ID NCT05168982
Summary
This study tested new, fully automated MRI scans to diagnose and measure liver scarring and inflammation. The goal was to provide a safer, non-invasive alternative to liver biopsies, which are currently the standard but are painful and carry risks. Researchers compared the MRI results against biopsy findings from 200 adults with chronic liver disease to see if the scans were accurate.
