New MRI test could save pancreatic cancer patients from unneeded surgery

NCT ID NCT07252076

First seen Jan 09, 2026 · Last updated Apr 28, 2026 · Updated 13 times

Summary

This study aims to see if MRI scans can find tiny liver tumors in people with pancreatic cancer that standard CT scans often miss. About 120 adults with newly diagnosed pancreatic cancer will get both a CT and an MRI. If MRI proves better at detecting these hidden metastases, it could help doctors choose the right treatment and avoid unnecessary operations.
