Doctors test MRI as crystal ball for breast cancer treatment

NCT ID NCT00462696

Summary

This small pilot study tested whether MRI scans could reliably measure how well breast cancer responds to chemotherapy early in treatment. Researchers enrolled 16 women with breast cancer who were scheduled to receive chemotherapy before surgery. The goal was to see if MRI measurements taken after two chemotherapy cycles were consistent when read by different radiologists, which could help doctors adjust treatment plans sooner.
