Scientists scan normal breast tissue for hidden cancer clues

NCT ID NCT02301767

Summary

This study aims to understand how the appearance of normal breast tissue on MRI scans might relate to a woman's risk of developing breast cancer. Researchers are comparing MRI and mammogram images from over 2,000 women—some recently diagnosed with breast cancer and others at high risk but currently cancer-free. By analyzing these images along with health questionnaires and optional saliva samples, they hope to identify patterns that could help predict breast cancer risk in the future.
