Brain scan study aims to sharpen the map for epilepsy surgery

NCT ID NCT02107989

Summary

This study aims to improve how doctors use MRI brain scans to find the exact spot in the brain causing seizures in people with uncontrolled epilepsy. Researchers will compare scans from 500 epilepsy patients before and after surgery with scans from 200 healthy volunteers to create better reference maps. The goal is to make non-invasive brain imaging more accurate for planning surgery to control seizures.
