Summary
This study examines whether a routine blood test called Mean Platelet Volume (MPV), taken when a cancer patient is admitted to the intensive care unit (ICU), can help predict their risk of dying. Researchers will review the medical records of 425 adult cancer patients who stayed in the ICU for more than 24 hours between 2020 and 2025. No new tests or treatments are given—the goal is simply to see if MPV levels are linked to survival.
