Mind over muscle: imagining moves may boost shoulder surgery recovery

NCT ID NCT05670080

First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated Jun 12, 2026 · Updated 30 times

Summary

This study looks at whether adding mental practice (motor imagery) to standard physical therapy helps people recover better after arthroscopic rotator cuff repair. About 36 adults who had this surgery will be split into two groups: one gets only physical therapy, the other adds motor imagery exercises. Researchers will measure muscle activity, pain, function, and satisfaction to see if imagining movements makes a real difference.
