New drug may unmask hidden leukemia cells after treatment
NCT ID NCT07392970
First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026
Summary
This early study tests whether a single injection of motixafortide can help reveal tiny amounts of leukemia cells that remain after initial chemotherapy in people with acute myeloid leukemia (AML). Ten adults who have completed 1-2 cycles of treatment will receive the drug and then have blood tests to see if hidden cancer cells become easier to detect. The goal is to improve measurement of residual disease, not to treat the leukemia itself.
