New shot targets lymphoma without chemo
NCT ID NCT07191249
First seen Jun 25, 2026 · Last updated Aug 12, 2026 · Updated 3 times
Summary
This phase 2 trial tests a drug called mosunetuzumab, given as a shot under the skin, for people with a slow-growing type of lymphoma that hasn't been treated yet. The drug works by helping the body's immune cells find and kill cancer cells. About 30 adults will receive up to 8 cycles of treatment over roughly 6 months, and researchers will track how well the cancer responds and what side effects occur.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
- Active substance
- mosunetuzumab (a drug that helps immune cells attack cancer cells)
- What this could lead to
- If successful, this could offer a less intensive first-line treatment option for people with a slow-growing form of lymphoma, potentially delaying the need for stronger therapies.
- What could go wrong
- This is a small, early-phase trial with only 30 participants, so results may not apply to everyone. The drug may cause side effects like infusion reactions or infections, and it's not yet known if it works better than current approaches.
