Scientists let mosquitoes bite volunteers to crack disease tracking code
NCT ID NCT04478370
Summary
This study aimed to understand how the human immune system responds to mosquito bites. Healthy volunteers were exposed to controlled bites from specific mosquito species that can carry malaria or dengue. Researchers measured antibody levels in the volunteers' blood over time to identify markers that could be used to track people's exposure to these disease-carrying mosquitoes in the future.
