First seen Jun 24, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026 · Updated 1 time

Summary

This study looks at whether morning or evening exercise is better for controlling blood sugar in men with type 2 diabetes. Sixty men aged 40-60 will do high-intensity interval and resistance training for 12 weeks, either in the morning or evening. Researchers will measure changes in HbA1c, cholesterol, and fitness to find the optimal exercise timing.

What this could mean

Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.

Active substance

exercise (high-intensity interval training and resistance training)

What this could lead to

If it works, this could show the best time of day for men with type 2 diabetes to exercise for better blood sugar control.

What could go wrong

This is a small, early-stage trial with only 60 men, so results may not apply to everyone. Exercise timing may not make a big difference in blood sugar levels.
