Bright light therapy shows promise for Veterans' sleep troubles

NCT ID NCT03578003

First seen Jun 27, 2026 ยท Last updated Jun 27, 2026

Summary

This study tests whether sitting in front of a bright light for 60 minutes each morning can improve sleep in veterans who have had a traumatic brain injury (TBI) and may also have PTSD. About 200 veterans will wear a sleep tracker and fill out questionnaires before, during, and after 4 weeks of light therapy. The goal is to see if this simple, drug-free approach can reduce insomnia and daytime sleepiness.
