Can tumor markers guide future ovarian cancer treatments?
NCT ID NCT07771400
First seen Aug 18, 2026 · Last updated Aug 18, 2026
Summary
This study examines tumor samples from 320 Latin American women with advanced ovarian, fallopian tube, or peritoneal cancer to describe the presence of certain markers (FRα, HER2, PD-L1, HRD, and BRCA). Researchers will collect medical history and test archived tumor tissue to see how often these markers overlap. The goal is to better understand the molecular landscape of this cancer in this population, which could inform future treatment strategies.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
- What this could lead to
- This could help identify which patients with advanced ovarian cancer might benefit from targeted therapies based on their tumor's molecular profile.
- What could go wrong
- This is an observational study, so it won't test treatments directly. Results may not apply to all populations or lead to immediate clinical changes.
