First seen Mar 14, 2026 · Last updated Jun 01, 2026 · Updated 9 times

Summary

This study tested a new type of microscope (two-photon fluorescence microscopy) to see if it can find leftover basal cell carcinoma during Mohs surgery as well as the standard method (frozen section). 135 people having Mohs surgery for skin cancer took part. The goal was to compare how often the new method agreed with the standard one on whether cancer remained.
