NCT ID NCT07594808

First seen Jun 24, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026 · Updated 1 time

Summary

This study tests whether a smartphone-based stress management program can help Black men with hypertension lower their blood pressure and feel less stressed. About 135 participants will either use a culturally tailored app (m-CBSMi) or take a standard online stress course. Researchers will compare blood pressure readings and stress scores after 6 months.

What this could mean

Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.

Active substance
mobile cognitive behavioral stress management intervention (m-CBSMi)
What this could lead to
If it works, this could offer a convenient, culturally tailored way for Black men to manage stress and lower blood pressure at home.
What could go wrong
This is a small Phase 2 trial (135 people) testing a behavioral app, not a drug. Results may not apply to everyone, and stress reduction alone may not be enough to control blood pressure long-term.
