Summary

This study tests whether short, social-media-style health education videos can help teens with chronic illnesses become more ready to manage their own healthcare. 44 teens will be randomly assigned to watch the videos or explore a standard health website. Researchers will measure changes in health literacy, confidence, and appointment attendance right after and six months later.

What this could lead to

If it works, this could show that short, social-media-style videos are a better way to teach teens how to manage their own healthcare.

What could go wrong

This is a small, early pilot study with only 44 participants. The results may not apply to all teens, and the videos may not be more helpful than the website.
