Chatbots and spit tests: a new approach to stop TB spread
NCT ID NCT06338462
Summary
This study tested a new strategy to find people exposed to tuberculosis (TB) in Colombia. Researchers used a mobile app (chatbot) to communicate with patients and their household contacts and collected oral swabs for testing instead of traditional sputum samples. The main goal was to see if this approach was practical and acceptable to the community, to prepare for a larger future trial.
