Texting your way to a Smoke-Free life: study tests WhatsApp support
NCT ID NCT05370352
Summary
This study tested whether receiving supportive text messages through WhatsApp could help people who recently quit smoking avoid starting again. Researchers enrolled 590 adults in Hong Kong who had stopped smoking for 3-30 days. Half received regular encouraging messages through the chat app, while the other half did not, to see if the messages made a difference in staying smoke-free.
