Summary
This study is testing whether a smartphone app called 'Stand Down' can help Veterans who drink hazardously to reduce their alcohol use. It will compare the app used alone to the app used with phone support from a trained Peer Specialist, and to the usual care Veterans receive. The goal is to see if this private, accessible approach can help Veterans who often don't seek traditional treatment.
