Summary

This study tested whether using machine learning to plan radiation treatment reduces side effects for people with head and neck cancer. 204 adults receiving radiation therapy were randomly assigned to either machine-learning-assisted planning or standard planning. The main goal was to see if the AI approach improved swallowing function and other quality-of-life measures after treatment.
