Can fixing a floppy heart valve stop dangerous rhythms?
NCT ID NCT06255457
Summary
This study aims to see if surgery to repair a leaky, floppy mitral heart valve can reduce dangerous irregular heartbeats and heart scarring in patients who have both conditions. Researchers will follow 90 patients needing this standard surgery, checking their heart rhythms and performing special heart scans before and six months after the operation. The goal is to better understand the link between the valve problem and the arrhythmias to improve long-term management.
