Heart valve clip shows promise in reducing hospital stays

Summary
This study tested a device called MitraClip that clips a leaky heart valve to help it close better. 304 people with severe mitral regurgitation and heart failure were randomly assigned to get either standard care alone or standard care plus the MitraClip procedure. The goal was to see if the device could reduce deaths and unplanned hospital stays for heart failure over two years.
