Oxygen + light: a new hope for vitiligo repigmentation?

NCT ID NCT07557693

First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026

Summary

This study tests whether adding hyperbaric oxygen therapy (breathing pure oxygen in a pressurized chamber) to standard narrowband UVB light treatment can help restore skin color in people with vitiligo. Five adults with non-segmental vitiligo will receive UVB twice a week for 24 weeks plus 40 oxygen sessions over 8 weeks. The goal is to see if this combination speeds up repigmentation better than light alone.
