New combo therapy for vitiligo shows promise in phase 4 trial

NCT ID NCT07563049

First seen May 02, 2026 · Last updated May 07, 2026 · Updated 2 times

Summary

This study tests whether adding carboxytherapy (injecting carbon dioxide gas under the skin) to standard narrowband UVB light therapy can improve repigmentation in people with stable vitiligo. 59 adults with at least two matching white patches on their body will receive full-body light therapy plus carboxytherapy on one side only, so the treated and untreated sides can be compared. The main goal is to measure how much color returns and to check changes in certain skin chemicals.
