Summary

This study aimed to understand why Black Americans have higher rates of high blood pressure and heart disease. Researchers tested if taking a daily antioxidant supplement called MitoQ for 8 weeks could improve blood vessel function and lower blood pressure in middle-aged and older Black and non-Black adults. The study also looked at how factors like income, discrimination, and lifestyle might affect heart health.
