Summary
This study was designed to explore whether problems with mitochondria — the energy centers of cells — play a role in causing heart damage in people with sepsis. Researchers planned to compare blood samples from sepsis patients and healthy volunteers. However, the study was withdrawn before enrolling any participants, so no results are available.
