Summary

This study tested a new support program called MISSION-CJ for homeless veterans who struggle with both substance use and mental health disorders and have been involved with the justice system. The program provided intensive case management and peer support to help participants stay out of jail, find stable housing, and manage their health. Researchers compared outcomes for 134 veterans who received this special support to those who got standard care.
